Position Summary:
21 Plus is looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist with daily function of the Adult Training Centers, including direct support such as toileting, feeding, and cleaning up after individuals as they would be in their respective group homes. Our Day Program Direct Support Professionals (DSP) share responsibility for and assist the Vocational Program Administrator with the overall operation and quality of the adult training center. Day program DSPs will provide supervision and training to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them to become contributing members of their community.
Day Program Direct Support Professional Caregivers are NOT limited to working in Day Program, and can pick up shifts in Group Homes, as needed by their availability.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Adult Training Center:
· Day program Direct Support Professionals (DSP) is required to oversee all direct living support during daytime hours.
· Ensuring all individuals at the Day Program Adult Training Center is safe and healthy while in attendance.
· Provide Community Employment Services to adults in our Day Program while promoting individual growth as a caregiver.
· Leading structured activities – prevocational, social, recreational, and community based – that assist in both the development of personal skills and social abilities.
· Supervise, coach, and assist our individuals, either in groups or 1:1, during community integration events including, but not limited to; outings, bowling, crew labor, job sampling, volunteer activities, etc.
· Day Program DSPs are responsible for transportation to and from all activities, community integration events, and employment related assistance.
· Assist the Program Administrator in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs that are designed to help the individuals we serve to meet their social, emotional, physical, and personal needs and goals.
· Embody 21 Plus, Inc’s Mission and Core Values daily as a Direct Support Professional Caregiver.
· Cooperating fully with licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.
· The requirements for criminal background checks, the central registry, the child abuse registry, and drug testing.
Do you Qualify to be a Day Program DSP with us?
· Must be at least 18 years old (REQUIRED)
· Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License with an acceptable record of safe driving. (REQUIRED)
· High School Diploma / GED (REQUIRED)
· Able to attend all required Trainings, including 6 Days of Initial Employment Training (IET) Program (REQUIRED)
Agency Training
21 Plus, Inc requires all incoming new hires to complete an extensive hands-on Initial Employment Training (IET) Program. This program is developed with the help of the Division of Developmental Disabilities to ensure that all Direct Support Professional (DSP) Caregivers, whether in Day Program or Group Homes, can provide quality services to our individuals.
This training course is 6 days (Weekdays Only) which is a mix of training between the Administration Office in Manchester and your assigned location. Times of training vary depending on which Training Program you fall into (Day and Evening Hours).
In alignment with Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) requirements, completion of the required IET training within your first 30 days of employment ensures you have the knowledge and tools to succeed and deliver exceptional care in our community. Please note that completing the training may require working outside of your regular scheduled hours to meet all requirements.
Pay: $21.01 - $21.51 per hour
