Looking for two well-established and highly regarded investment firm is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support its finance operations team on a temporary and permanent basis. Overview
This role will focus on processing invoices, managing fund-related allocations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely vendor payments. The position works closely with accounting, finance, operations, and investment teams to support overall financial accuracy and efficiency.
While candidates with real estate accounting backgrounds may possess strong AP fundamentals, this role is heavily focused on investment fund allocations and expense distribution across multiple entities and funds. Experience working in a fund environment or with complex allocation structures is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Allocate expenses across multiple funds, entities, and cost centers with precision
- Ensure proper coding of invoices to general ledger accounts and applicable fund structures
- Assist with vendor setup, onboarding, and maintenance of records
- Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH transactions, and wire transfers
- Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and accruals
- Partner with internal teams and vendors to research and resolve discrepancies
- Review and process employee expense reports
- Maintain organized records to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance
- Assist with ad hoc finance, accounting, and operational projects as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience
- Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Prior exposure to fund accounting, investment management, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, or multi-entity allocations strongly preferred
- Understanding of expense allocations across funds, entities, departments, or cost centers preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Proficiency with accounting and AP systems (experience with AP automation tools is a plus)
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential financial information
