Join our dynamic team as a Class A local experienced flatbed driver, where your expertise in commercial driving will keep operations moving smoothly and efficiently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work close to home, delivering freight with precision and professionalism. As a key player in our transportation network, you’ll be responsible for safely transporting flatbed loads across local routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Your skills in handling various types of freight, including oversized or specialized loads, will be essential to our success.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer with manual transmission or automatic on local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- ensuring secure placement of cargo on flatbeds
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs and ensure vehicle safety
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds, utilizing tarps, straps, chains, and other securing devices to prevent shifting during transit
- Navigate route driving efficiently while managing delivery schedules and maintaining communication with dispatch for updates or adjustments
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with proven experience operating flatbed trucks in a local setting or otr setting
- Experience with freight types such as refrigerated trailers is a plus
- Strong knowledge of load securing techniques and safety protocols for flatbed and specialized freight handling
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with DOT regulations
- Physical ability to strap & unstrap loads & is comfortable working in various weather conditions
