The Senior Director, Business Strategy & Insights plays a central role in advancing the growth of Decera Clinical Insights by securing new client relationships and strengthening existing partnerships. This position requires a strong ability to recognize opportunities, engage senior stakeholders, and position insights offerings as essential solutions aligned with client objectives and company financial goals.
This role is accountable for guiding opportunities across the full business development lifecycle, from initial outreach and solution development through proposal execution and transition to delivery teams. Success requires close collaboration with Insights account teams and internal subject matter experts to shape commercially sound, scientifically credible solutions that address client needs and drive sustainable growth.
Key Accountabilities
This position is accountable for achieving assigned sales and financial goals and expanding Decera’s Insights presence across targeted clients.
Responsibilities include:

Developing and executing business development plans aligned to quarterly and annual sales and financial targets

Managing a portfolio of prospective and existing accounts with responsibility for new sales bookings and organic account growth

Identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities through consultative, insight-driven selling

Building trusted relationships with senior-level client decision-makers and serving as a strategic partner throughout the sales process

Collaborating with Insights account teams and internal subject matter experts to develop pitch materials, solution concepts, and proposals aligned to client objectives

Managing opportunities across the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, proposal development, pricing discussions, contract execution, and transition to delivery teams

Promoting Decera Insights capabilities through targeted outreach, client meetings, conferences, and other business development initiatives

Partnering cross-functionally with other Decera divisions to support integrated client solutions and long-term account growth

Maintaining awareness of trends in clinical medicine, therapeutics, and the biopharmaceutical industry

Providing regular updates on pipeline activity, forecasts, and progress against sales and financial goals
Position Qualifications

5–10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account-focused roles within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical communications/insights services

Demonstrated responsibility for managing multi-million-dollar books of business aligned with sales and financial goals

Proven success in meeting sales goals through new client acquisition and organic account growth

Experience with consultative, insight-focused selling involving complex stakeholder environments

Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging senior-level clients

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills

Ability to work effectively within matrixed, cross-functional teams

Solid understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry and commercial strategies
Requirements:

5-10 years’ experience in a sales or senior sales role within the pharmaceutical services industry with proven success in business expansion
Education:

Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred.
