A hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity with a high-volume cardiac surgery program in Louisville, KY.
Position Highlights
- Schedule: 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Inpatient setting with occasional weekend rounding
- Approximately 14 shifts per month
- Ongoing assignment with a minimum 6-month commitment preferred
- Travel and lodging provided
Clinical Responsibilities
- First-assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures
- Prioritize and support OR workflow
- Manage approximately two open cardiac cases per day
- Occasional inpatient rounding
- Call coverage as needed
Case Types
- Coronary artery bypass procedures
- Valve replacements and repairs
- Cardiac transplants
- Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) cases
Requirements
- Board-Certified Physician Assistant
- Active Kentucky PA license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong cardiothoracic surgery experience
- Proficiency with endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) required; Hemapro experience preferred
