Position Title: Lift Driver I
Pay: Based on experience
Position Summary: The Lift Driver position will focus on moving lumber in a safe and efficient manner. This person must have a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Lift Driver I: Handles Flat Stack and Shipping only.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently transport lumber throughout the yard
- Unload and load trucks, perform pre-shift truck inspection, feed production lines, load and unload dry kilns & pre-dryers
- Continuously maintain a safe work area clear from debris, clutter, and dust
- Operate lifts and other production equipment
- Wear required personal protective equipment at all times
- Maintain an excellent attendance record
- Must be safety conscious, have a positive attitude, and work well in a team environment
- Work toward meeting and exceeding all production goals
- Willingness to cross-train and take on new tasks
- Adhere to company policies and SOPs
Language Standards:
- Must understand written and spoken English
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to perform in a fast, labor-intensive environment with exposure to dust particles and loud machinery
- Capability of performing repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping
- Willingness to obtain MacDonald & Owen forklift certification
- A valid driver’s license
- A general understanding or willingness to learn the mechanics of a lift truck
- Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- The ability to follow safety guidelines & procedures
- Able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
