Position Summary: We are Divine Employment Services; we provide optimal employment support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to provide support and assistants for our clients through pre-employment, job development, employment support, vocational training, volunteerism, and self-advocacy. Our goal is to empower each individual we serve and assist them to reach their greatest potential through the independence of employment.
Divine is looking for competent Mentors to help our clients enhance their strengths and improve their employment and self- advocacy skills. You will support our clients with guidance for career development or assistance in functioning in a workplace. As a Mentor you must be eager to support our clients and help them to reach their greatest potential, helping each client to discover their strengths and weaknesses. A Mentor must support clients by providing direction. Employment Mentors are required to have great communication skills partnered with critical thinking as a prerequisite.
Position Level: Entry Level
Position Schedule Availability: Sunday through Saturday
Wage Summary: Starting $17 over a time of wage increases determined by the evaluation process.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma; or 6 months of experience
- Driver License
- California Auto Insurance
- Immediate access to an operating vehicle with operable seat belts
- Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Proof of a negative TB test
- Passing results from a DOJ live scan or Federal Background check
- Ability to adhere to regulations and standards
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Must possess good written communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:
- Assist with pre-employment, job development, vocational training, volunteerism, and self-advocacy awareness.
- Facilitate groups with clients on a 1:3 to a 1:1 ratio
- Complete COVID-19 protocol screenings and assessment.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of treatment plans.
- Chart and report any significant changes in condition and general progress of clients.
- Complete daily documentation on clients.
- Complete all Daily and Quarterly documentations, Special Incident Reports and directive by scheduled deadlines in place by the company or management.
- Comply and document all SCLARC, DDS, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Participates in Team an ISP meetings.
- Communicate with clients to understand their goals.
- Create an effective Daily, Weekly or Monthly agenda/plan for assigned caseload.
- Assist clients to discover and overcome their personal barriers and job task deficiencies.
- Motivate the client.
- Provide on-site employment support (Job Coaching).
- Advise on workplace accommodations for people with disabilities.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document the progress of clients.
- Mobility Training (public transportation / access)
- Other duties as assigned
