Palouse Power is a high-voltage electrical contractor specializing in distribution, transmission, substation, underground electrical, and renewable energy construction throughout Washington and the Pacific Northwest. We are seeking a Safety Manager to assist in managing our company-wide safety program. This position reports to our Quincy, Washington office and requires semi-frequent travel to active construction projects throughout Washington.
The Safety Manager will work closely with the Safety Director to help administer and continuously improve all aspects of the company's safety program. This position requires someone who is comfortable working both in the field and in the office, building relationships with employees while ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
This position will work closely with executive leadership, project managers, superintendents, general foremen, foremen, and field employees to support safe and successful project execution.
Duties
- Assist in managing all aspects of the company's safety program.
- Conduct field safety audits and jobsite inspections.
- Travel to active jobsites throughout Washington.
- Provide safety coaching and guidance to supervisors and field personnel.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and develop corrective actions.
- Assist with OSHA, WISHA, customer, and company compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Prepare and review Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs), customer-required safety documentation, and project safety submittals.
- Conduct new hire orientations and ongoing safety training.
- Maintain training records and regulatory documentation.
- Support safety committee activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a positive safety culture through leadership, communication, and employee engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Safety Engineering, Safety and Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or another closely related field acceptable under the project contract requirements.
- Current certification as one of the following:
- Registered Professional Safety Engineer (RPSE)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
- Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Willingness to travel throughout Washington as project needs require.
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Note: This position supports federal projects with contractual qualification requirements. Applicants must meet the minimum education and professional credential requirements at the time of hire to be considered for this position.

- Experience with contractor prequalification systems such as ISNetworld, Avetta, or similar platforms.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
