About the Position:
Senior Accounts Payable Specialist - Irvine, CA (In-Office Position Only)
A financial services corporation headquartered in Irvine is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our exceptional team. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary.

- Hourly Pay: $25-$37
- Job Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Education: College degree preferred, but not required
- Experience: 5 years of Accounts Payable/Full Cycle Accounting (Required)
Some of the anticipated position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and expense reports.
- Review and verify invoices and check requests for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage the vendor setup process and maintain up-to-date vendor records.
- Manage and reconcile AMEX corporate card accounts.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Monitor and review AP aging reports to ensure timely payments.
- Prepare and review monthly and year-end AP reports and financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy in coding and recording transactions in the general ledger.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve payment issues and improve processes.
- Gather and provide schedules to external auditors timely for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
- Conduct training sessions for new and existing AP staff.
- Participate in other special projects and analyses as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
- 5 years of Accounts Payable accounting experience is required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs) is preferred
- Proficient knowledge and experience in all other Microsoft Office
- Experience with Full Cycle Accounting close
- Knowledge of the financial services industry is preferred
- Business Central experience a plus
- Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, and deadline-oriented
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential
