About the Role
Mike Home Improvements is looking for a sharp, highly organized Production Coordinator & Estimator with experience in roofing, siding, exterior remodeling, construction, or the home improvement industry.
This person will own the pre-production readiness of every project — making sure work orders are accurate, materials are ordered and delivered on time, customers are informed, and the production team has everything needed before the job begins.
You will also assist with estimating and pricing roofing, siding, window replacement, and repair projects. You do not need to be an expert estimator; we will train you on our pricing, processes, and Roofr.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning: Maintain a rolling two-week production schedule, ensuring upcoming jobs are properly planned and ready for installation using Roofr (CRM)
- Work Orders: Prepare accurate work orders for every scheduled project and distribute them at least two days before the job.
- Material Ordering & Logistics: Prepare material orders from the signed proposal, measurements, and work order; submit them to suppliers and follow through until delivery is confirmed.
- Accuracy & Quality Control: Cross-check the proposal, work order, measurements, colors, quantities, and material order before submission. Preventable material or ordering mistakes are not acceptable.
- Pre-Job Delivery: Ensure materials are scheduled for delivery approximately one day before installation, confirm delivery with the supplier, and immediately address shortages, backorders, or incorrect materials.
- Customer Communication: Confirm project dates and material deliveries with homeowners, including permission to stage materials at the property prior to installation.
- Estimating: Prepare pricing and estimates for roofing, siding, window replacement, and repair projects using company pricing standards, measurements, photos, and project information.
- Internal Coordination: Work closely with Sales, Project Managers, suppliers, and management to resolve missing information and ensure every project is fully production-ready.
- Roofr & Documentation: Maintain accurate project information, estimates, work orders, schedules, notes, and material information within Roofr.
Ownership & Urgency
This role requires an exceptionally strong sense of ownership and urgency.
When a supplier has not confirmed an order, follow up. When project information is missing, call the appropriate person. When something does not look right, investigate it. When a deadline is approaching, take action before it becomes a problem.
The expectation is simple: own the issue until it is resolved.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in roofing, siding, windows, exterior remodeling, construction, or home improvement is preferred.
- Experience with production coordination, scheduling, material ordering, logistics, or estimating is strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of roofing and/or siding materials and terminology.
- Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong ownership, urgency, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable proactively calling customers, suppliers, sales representatives, and project managers to get answers and keep projects moving.
- Able to anticipate problems instead of reacting to them after they happen.
- Experience with Roofr is a strong advantage, but not required.
Training
The selected candidate will receive approximately 2-3 weeks of training on Mike Home Improvements' production processes, estimating standards, material ordering procedures, and use of Roofr.
We will train you on our process. We are looking for someone who already brings the home improvement foundation, attention to detail, ownership, and urgency needed to succeed in the role.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
