Western Iowa Tech Community College is seeking qualified Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Driver Education Instructors to provide hands-on driving instruction to students with varying levels of driving experience. Instruction takes place on public roads using a Driver Education training vehicle equipped with a passenger-side brake pedal.
This is a part-time, on-call position requiring flexible scheduling. The number of lessons scheduled per day or week cannot be guaranteed. Typical hours include after-school, evening, weekend, and Sunday hours during the school year.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct behind-the-wheel driving lessons following approved Driver Education curriculum and instructional philosophy.
- Provide calm, clear, and supportive instruction to student drivers.
- Ensure student safety at all times while operating a Driver Education training vehicle.
- Maintain current knowledge of Iowa driving laws and regulations.
- Communicate professionally with students, families, and program staff.
- Complete required documentation related to lessons and student progress.
