Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physiology evaluation, and medical history review to determine individualized care needs.
- Administer medications, injections, and IV therapies following strict protocols and medical documentation standards.
- Perform wound care, manual handling procedures, and post-acute or sub-acute care interventions with precision and safety.
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, medication administration, First Aid techniques, and emergency procedures such as CPR and AED operation.
- Monitor patient progress through regular evaluations of vital signs, anatomy knowledge application, and patient assessment skills; adjust care plans accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, State Board of Nursing policies, Nursing Practice Acts, and hospital policies to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professional conduct.
Experience
- Proven inpatient or outpatient experience in medical-surgical units or emergency medicine settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Demonstrated expertise in emergency room procedures, urgent care environments, or critical care units including PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) experience.
- Hands-on experience managing infectious diseases and providing specialized Geriatrics or post-acute care services.
- Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine protocols, trauma response procedures, and acute care practices across various healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and nursing policies necessary for accurate patient assessment and documentation.
- Valid licensure from the State Board of Nursing with adherence to all relevant State Nursing Practice Acts; current CPR/AED certification required.
