The Scrum Master will serve as a servant leader, facilitator, and Agile coach responsible for helping cross-functional teams effectively apply Agile and Scrum principles to deliver business and technology solutions.
This individual will facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove barriers to delivery, promote team collaboration, and work closely with Product Owners, technical teams, business stakeholders, and organizational leadership.
The ideal candidate understands that the Scrum Master role goes beyond facilitating meetings. We are looking for someone who can strengthen team performance, improve delivery predictability, identify and remove impediments, and help create an environment of accountability, transparency, continuous improvement, and successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
● Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile development, technology, or business transformation teams.
● Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
● Partner closely with Product Owners to support backlog management, prioritization, sprint readiness, and alignment with business objectives.
● Coach team members on Agile principles, Scrum practices, self-organization, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
● Identify, track, escalate, and help remove impediments that may impact team delivery.
● Protect the team from unnecessary disruptions while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and leadership.
● Monitor team performance using Agile metrics such as velocity, sprint predictability, cycle time, throughput, and burndown trends.
● Facilitate discussions around dependencies, risks, blockers, and delivery commitments.
● Promote continuous improvement by helping teams identify opportunities to improve processes, quality, collaboration, and delivery.
● Support coordination across multiple Agile teams and participate in Scrum of Scrums or other cross-team planning activities when required.
● Collaborate with program leadership, Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, engineers, architects, QA professionals, and other stakeholders.
● Support Agile transformation and organizational maturity initiatives where applicable.
● Assist teams operating within Scrum, SAFe®, or other Agile delivery environments.
● Maintain appropriate Agile documentation and ensure transparency of team progress, risks, dependencies, and commitments.
● Support client and program reporting requirements as needed.
Required Qualifications
● Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience working as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, Agile Project Manager, or in a closely related Agile delivery role.
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
OR
● A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
● Must hold at least one recognized Agile certification, including:
● SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) or other applicable SAFe certification, or
● Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
● Strong knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum practices, and iterative software or technology delivery.
● Demonstrated experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and supporting cross-functional teams.
● Experience identifying and resolving team impediments, delivery risks, and dependencies.
● Strong communication, facilitation, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills.
● Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
● Experience working with Agile project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar platforms.
● Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving client environments.
Security Clearance Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance or Public Trust determination, depending on the requirements of the client engagement.
Applicants may be subject to background investigations, identity verification, and other screening requirements associated with government contracting engagements.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience supporting federal government, Department of Defense, healthcare, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
● Experience working on government technology modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
● Experience working within a SAFe® Agile environment.
● Experience facilitating Scrum of Scrums or coordinating dependencies across multiple Agile teams.
● Familiarity with software development, cloud migration, data platforms, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, or enterprise technology programs.
● Experience working with distributed or geographically dispersed teams.
● Additional certifications such as SAFe Agilist, PMI-ACP, PMP, PSM, or advanced Scrum certifications are a plus.
Pay: $92,000.00 - $121,530.23 per year
