Warm, engaging live-out nanny needed in Long Island City for a bright, active 5-year-old boy. This is a play-forward, child-centered role with an emphasis on engagement, joyful learning, and long-term growth with a dual-career family.

The Schedule:
- Guaranteed 40 hours/week, with closer to 50 hours during the summer
- Summer: 8:00 AM-6:00 PM (can be flexible)
- School year: lunchtime start through after-school hours

- 5-year-old boy: Active, emotionally mature, bright, and very engaging.
- He thrives on play, connection, and discovery and loves the park, card games, books, and imaginative activities.
- A dream afternoon would be simple science experiments, sensory play, and exploring his neighborhood.
- He is social and excited for finding new friends when he joins Kindergarten in the fall.
The Family:
- A dual-career household based in Long Island City seeking a reliable, proactive nanny to grow with them long-term.
- Both parents work outside the home and appreciate open communication, initiative, and a tidy, well-run household.
- The family has a friendly 20 lb dog, so comfort around pets is very important.
The Role:
- Plan fun, age-appropriate activities (parks, games, creative play)
- Narrate the day and turn everyday routines into engaging learning moments
- Support independence (e.g., helping him learn to put away his own laundry and assist with simple chores)
- Manage school pick-ups and coordinate playdates during the school year
- Provide light household support while he is at school (basic meal prep for the child, emptying dishwasher, light laundry, tidying away toys)
- Take initiative with the family dog (e.g. short walk/bathroom break after lunch)
- Cooking is limited to light meal prep
- No driving is required
- No travel expected

The Pay & Benefits:
- Pay: $35-$39/hr which equates to $72,800-$81,120 annually for a standard 40-hour week. All additional hours paid at overtime rate.
