Job Summary
The Rocky Mountain Regional Medical Center is a state-of-the-art, 168-bed tertiary care facility serving as the primary hub for the VA Eastern Colorado Health System and its expansive regional catchment area. We are seeking a third full-time, dedicated Interventional Radiologist to join our collaborative group. This expansion allows us to transition our clinical service line to a highly sustainable, lifestyle-friendly 1:3 rotating schedule.
Schedule & Call Details
Week On: Monday through Friday on-site procedural coverage (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM), supplemented by evening and weekend emergency call coverage for the 7-day block.
Weeks Off: 14 consecutive days of complete autonomy with absolutely no clinical, administrative, or diagnostic reading obligations. Pursuit of outside moonlighting/locums opportunities is allowed.

Clinical Profile & Scope of Practice
Our division manages a broad and highly engaging mix of inpatient and outpatient procedures across several well-developed clinical service lines:
Interventional Oncology: Active management including Liver TACE, Microwave Ablation, and Renal Cryoablation.
Venous & Arterial Interventions: Complex DVT/PE thrombectomy, diagnostic angiography, and embolization for acute hemorrhage.
Men’s & Women’s Health: Established Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE) and Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) protocols.
Core IR & Access: Dialysis access and fistula maintenance, high-volume image-guided core biopsies, and complex drainage interventions (biliary, cholecystostomy, nephrostomy, and abscess management).
Pain & Spine: Kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, and targeted neural plexus blocks.
Minor Procedures: Gastrostomy tube placement, suprapubic catheters, adrenal vein sampling, lumbar punctures, and standard joint/spine access.
Practice Note: Our service line excludes Neuro-interventional radiology, peripheral arterial disease (PAD) interventions, and selective internal radiation therapy (Y-90).
Qualifications
- MD/DO; BC/BE in IR/DR (or DR with IR fellowship training)
- Prefer post residency/fellowship experience in an IR practice.
- Experience working within hospital settings centers is highly desirable.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines including medicine, surgery, oncology, GI, urology, anesthesiology, emergency medicine and ICU.

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team and begin work as early as 10/1/26.
This position is a full time W-2 employment with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Pay: $400,000.00 per year
