Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist
Pay Range: $25.00–$29.00 per hour
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. This position will provide daily accounting support for multiple companies and will be responsible for accounts payable, banking activity, check register management, deposits, data entry, and sales commission calculations.
The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, comfortable working with multiple entities, and able to manage confidential financial information while meeting daily deadlines. This position will work closely with the CFO and will play an important role in maintaining accurate and timely financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and maintain accounts payable for multiple companies.
- Review invoices for accuracy, appropriate coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Enter and maintain check registers and ensure payments are accurately recorded.
- Review daily banking activity and enter deposits, transactions, and other banking data into the accounting system.
- Reconcile banking activity and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Accurately enter financial data on a daily basis.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Calculate and prepare sales commission reports and payments based on established commission plans.
- Work with management and sales personnel to research and resolve commission questions or discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end accounting procedures and reporting.
- Assist the CFO with accounting projects, financial reports, reconciliations, and other financial analysis as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of company financial information.
- Work with multiple companies and ensure transactions are properly recorded under the correct entity.
- Identify discrepancies or unusual transactions and bring them to the CFO's attention.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, accounting, or a related position preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working with banking transactions, deposits, check registers, and financial data.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with the CFO and other departments.
- Comfortable working with multiple companies or entities.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar systems preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience calculating sales commissions is a plus.
