Serafini's Trattoria is an Italian restaurant located in downtown Erie, Pennsylvania. Opened in the summer of 2025 at 417 State Street, Serafini's marks the Serafini family's return to Erie's dining scene, continuing a family legacy that began in 1938.

Job Summary
We're looking for dependable, energetic, and team-oriented Service Assistants to help create an exceptional dining experience for every guest. This is a tipped position that participates in the restaurant's tip pool.
The Service Assistant is one of the most important support positions in the restaurant. You'll work alongside our hosts, servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to keep service running smoothly. Your responsibilities include maintaining the appearance of the dining room, assisting with food delivery, quietly pre-bussing and resetting tables, maintaining bread and water service, and ensuring the restaurant is always prepared for the next guest.
The ideal candidate enjoys staying busy, notices what needs to be done without being asked, and takes pride in cleanliness, organization, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-bus and bus tables throughout service while maintaining a quiet, professional dining room atmosphere.
- Reset tables to Serafini's standards promptly and accurately.
- Deliver food to guests while ensuring each dish reaches the correct table.
- Refill and replace table water bottles as needed.
- Assist in maintaining the bread station and other front-of-house service stations.
- Restock dining room supplies, including water bottles, condiments, napkins, silverware, and service items.
- Assist hosts and servers during busy periods to maintain smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining room, service stations, hallways, and guest-facing areas throughout each shift.
- Support the kitchen by transporting dishes and assisting with non-cooking tasks as needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
- Work with calm professionalism while helping create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere for every guest.

Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong work ethic with a positive, team-first attitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and professional.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be dependable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional hospitality.
