Position: Preschool Lead Teacher
Classification: Part Time
Purpose of Role: The Preschool Lead Teacher for Play Pals Daycare is passionate about providing a warm, safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 5 years old to thrive. They ensure that children receive abundant attention as an extension of the care received from their primary caregivers.
Reports To: Daycare Administrator
Oversees: Classroom Assistant
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision in a safe environment by maintaining an orderly and clean facility
- Select age-appropriate developmental materials for the classroom
- Implement provided curriculum in a manner that supports creativity and learning
- Oversee Preschool Classroom Assistant, providing training and development opportunities
- Follow Ohio state rules and regulations with regards to Preschool classroom operation
- Inform staff and parents of curriculum by posting schedules and daily activities
- Maintain open communication and a classroom newsletter, including sharing child's progress with parents
Additional Responsibilities:
- File incident reports as needed
- Attend training and development opportunities
Skills and Attributes:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or other related field.
- CDA with 1+ years of experience within child care preferred
- Active First Aid and CPR certification
- Nurturing: Love of working with children
- Strong observation skills and developed intuition
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly area
- Abundance of patience and self control
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time with an ability to adapt as required
- Self-motivated with ability to supervise others
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality
- Clear communication to children and adults, including conflict resolution skills

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
