Job Overview: The Transmission Reman Technician plays a critical role in rebuilding transmissions to meet and exceed both our internal quality standards and those expected by our customers. This position is essential in maintaining Powertrain Solutions’ reputation as a provider of top-tier remanufactured transmissions. Technicians are subject to rigorous quality control (QC) checks by their Production Manager and are also overseen by our dedicated Quality Control department. Our products undergo extensive testing, including dyno testing, warranty assessment, inspection, and R&D, to ensure every step of our process upholds the highest standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Rebuild transmissions with a focus on both functionality and visual quality to ensure marketability.
- Utilize computerized workstations for technical support and diagnostics.
- Adhere to stringent quality standards for warranty and dyno testing.
- Employ Sonnax Vacuum testing techniques for precise valve body remanufacturing.
- Perform valve body remanufacturing and valve bore reaming to exact specifications.
- Remanufacture pumps and other transmission components with meticulous attention to detail.
- Engage in a comprehensive 6-month training program, including on-the-job training (OJT), to achieve proficiency in all areas of transmission remanufacturing.
- Obtain certification from ATRA as part of professional development.
- Collaborate with the Trasgos tech team and ATRA for ongoing product development, ensuring our remanufacturing processes incorporate the latest innovations and techniques.
- Products and processes are QC checked at every step by the Production Manager and tested by the Quality Control department to ensure adherence to our dyno, warranty, and R&D standards.
- Strive for process efficiency using Six Sigma practices to reduce waste and improve workflow.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Transmission Technician with a strong background in remanufacturing.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computerized workstations.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, including ATRA certification.
