Accounts Payable Specialist (Full-Time, Non-Exempt)

Pay: $23.00–$25.00 per hour

Orchard & Vineyard Supply is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team at our Yakima headquarters.
This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal business partners. The ideal candidate has solid accounting experience, exceptional attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and customer service are essential.

Accounts Payable Processing
- Review and prioritize invoices based on payment terms and available cash discounts.
- Code vendor invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Verify invoices have appropriate supporting documentation and required approvals before payment.
- Match invoices to receiving documentation and purchase records for accuracy.
- Enter invoices accurately into the NetSuite ERP system.
- Reconcile vendor statements and research and resolve discrepancies.
Payment Processing
- Process manual check requests and employee expense reimbursements.
- Process electronic vendor payments.
- Maintain accurate payment records and supporting documentation.
Vendor Relations
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
- Respond promptly and professionally to vendor inquiries.
- Work collaboratively with vendors and internal departments to resolve purchasing, invoicing, and payment issues.
Financial Administration
- Collect and maintain vendor W-9 forms.
- Assist with annual IRS Form 1099 preparation.
- Maintain accounts payable files and documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare reports and other financial information as requested by management.
- Help maintain internal controls related to financial processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline accounts payable processes.
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) years of accounting or accounts payable experience.
- Experience using NetSuite ERP is required.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency using Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF editing software.
- Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and professional business etiquette.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, coworkers, and employees across multiple departments and locations.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for keyboarding and operating standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a professional office environment and requires regular interaction with employees, vendors, and business partners. This is a 100% on-site position located in Yakima, Washington.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $23.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
