Job Overview
- We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented School Bus and School Van Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on our fleet of school buses and vans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle mechanics, particularly with large vehicles, and a dedication to keeping our students safe on the road.
Key Responsabilities
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections on school buses and vans to ensure they meet safety standards.
-Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
-Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize vehicle downtime.
-Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
-Collaborate with the transportation team to schedule and prioritize repairs.
-Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
-Keep the workshop clean, organized, and stocked with necessary parts and tools.
Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Certification from a recognized automotive technical school or equivalent experience.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic
-State inspection and emission (Must have or willing to obtain)
-Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and vehicle diagnostics.
-Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment efficiently.
-Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
-Valid driver's license; CDL Class B Required with S and P endorsements
(Training provided in house to obtain CDL Class B Required with S and P endorsements)
-Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
