Cheerleading Coach – Great Sports - MULTIPLE LOCATIONS IN MIAMI-DADE & BROWARD
Overview
Great Sports is seeking multiple energetic, reliable, and passionate Cheerleading Coaches to join our growing team! In this paid position, coaches will help lead fun, engaging, and skill-based cheerleading programs for elementary-aged students of different experience levels.
As a Great Sports Cheerleading Coach, you will help create a positive environment where young students can build confidence, learn teamwork, stay active, and develop strong cheerleading fundamentals. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with children, enjoys coaching, and brings high energy to every practice, performance, and class.
Duties
Plan and lead engaging cheerleading practices for elementary-aged students that focus on jumps, cheers, dance, motions, formations, basic stunting, tumbling, and routines.
Teach athletes proper technique, body control, confidence, and safety during all cheerleading activities.
Create a fun, encouraging, and structured environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and positive behavior.
Assist with preparing students for school events, showcases, performances, camps, and Great Sports programs.
Ensure all activities follow proper safety procedures, including safe stunt execution, proper spotting, and responsible use of equipment.
Communicate professionally with students, parents, school staff, and Great Sports leadership regarding schedules, expectations, and program updates.
Support elementary-aged students of different skill levels by making practices fun, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
Incorporate general athletic training such as flexibility, balance, strength, coordination, conditioning, and movement fundamentals to help young athletes improve overall performance.
Represent Great Sports in a positive and professional way at all schools, camps, programs, and community events.
Qualifications
Prior cheerleading, dance, gymnastics, tumbling, or sports coaching experience preferred.
Knowledge of cheerleading fundamentals, including motions, jumps, cheers, dance routines, basic stunting, tumbling, and choreography.
Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school, camp, sports, coaching, or childcare setting is strongly preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate, encourage, and manage groups of young students.
Ability to teach physical activity with a strong focus on safety, proper technique, and positive behavior.
AED, CPR, or First Aid certification is preferred.
Must be dependable, energetic, patient, and comfortable working with elementary-aged students of different skill levels.
Additional coaching experience in sports, fitness, dance, gymnastics, or youth programming is a plus.
