Duties
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Install new HVAC equipment and mechanical systems in commercial settings following industry standards and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R systems to ensure reliable operation and energy efficiency.
- Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics and electrical systems within HVAC units using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and building automation system controls to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems, including condensate drain lines, refrigerant piping, and water supply connections.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs, recommend maintenance plans, and ensure high levels of customer service.
Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 7 years) as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance.
- Construction experience preferred for understanding building infrastructure integration.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC design principles, refrigeration cycles, boiler operation, and building automation systems.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical drawings related to electrical systems and HVAC controls.
- Proficient with hand tools, electrical diagnostic equipment (such as ohmmeters), and equipment troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems associated with HVAC applications including condensate drainage and refrigerant piping.
- Ability to perform electrical diagnostics on complex HVAC/R equipment ensuring proper system operation.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicle safely at all times.
- EPA certification required for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC/R or electrical systems are a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.

Pay: $30.58 - $80.00 per hour
