Duties
- Provide attentive pet care by feeding, administering medication, and ensuring animals are comfortable and happy.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills.
- Assist with dog training sessions, reinforcing commands and good behavior.
- Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
- Support veterinary staff with basic veterinary technician tasks, including learning restraint tactics.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas to promote a healthy environment.
- Offer exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and answering their questions about pet care.
Requirements
- Prior experience in animal handling, kennel work, or pet sitting is highly preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a strong plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with large animals.
- Strong animal restraint skills to ensure safety for pets and staff during handling or medical procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude.
- Basic pet grooming skills and familiarity with animal care best practices.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work flexible hours including weekends or holidays as needed. Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
