This isn’t a “help wanted” post. It’s a signal - designed to reach the one right person for it.
Who This Role Is NOT For (as in applying will be a waste of time for you and for us)
This will NOT work if you…
· Have a big ego
· Money is your only motivation
· Cannot give AND receive feedback
· Are looking to coast on sales from existing CPC clients
· Don’t want to contribute on multiple levels
· Want to “sit back and manage”
Who This Role IS For (as in this is the signal you’ve been waiting for)
This WILL work if you…
· Have a strong desire to BUILD something meaningful.
· Want to be a part of a TEAM that truly works together.
· COMMUNICATE openly with everyone and SEEK to get BETTER.
· CARE about your WORK and your REPUTATION.
· Choose to LEARN from your mistakes and TEACH others the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
· INVEST in the DREAM that it’s better to do business with INTEGRITY.
Why This Opportunity Will Work if You Will
This WILL work because…
· You will be disciplined in contacting potential clients and bring opportunities to bid.
· Our bidding process is very easy and estimators love being able to rely on our estimating team to quickly turn around accurate proposals – You DON’T have to do the proposals
· The admin team completes all the paperwork requests for insurance, safety, and other qualifiers to be set up on client master vendor lists.
· CPC has a good reputation built on taking care of its people and our people take care of our clients – If you provide the opportunity, the team will do excellent work and make it exceptionally easy for you to ask for more.
· The owner is the current Business Development Manager, and you will work directly with him to build on the connections and relationships he has developed.
Why CPC Exists
At CPC, our Purpose is simple and demanding: We exist to protect people and inspire confidence - for our people and our clients!
How we protect our people and inspire confidence in them:
· The first obvious answer is to provide a safe work environment where employees have proper PPE, full stop-work authority, and a safety first, production second mindset.
· The less obvious way is to care about each employee’s meaningful professional progress, their lifestyle, their families and important relationships and events.
· We actively solicit feedback on how CPC can be better. We seek to take care of CPC so CPC can take care of us.
· We work with our people to help them progress in their professional development. We seek to help them improve themselves so they can be ready for opportunities as the company grows.
· We inspire confidence by openly communicating and striving to work without ego getting in the way. We say what we do and do what we say.
· We are far from perfect. We acknowledge that things can be better. We are continually identifying what needs to improve, selecting the most important piece, and working together to create the solution. THIS POSITION is our current, most important piece. We will have your back if you have ours.
How we protect our client’s people and inspire confidence for them:
· Our engineers and technicians back the vision of what we sell. They communicate clearly with the client regarding schedule, project processes, and reporting. When our team gets the opportunity to work with a new client, we continually are asked to do more work in the future.
· We communicate openly and honestly. The client doesn’t wonder where we are and when we will arrive. We do what we say we will do.
· We recognize that the studies, testing, and engineering services we perform are intended to protect people from danger, equipment from damage, and maintain production uptime and minimize downtime. We don’t just push buttons and write down results. Our people take great care to find solutions, advise of potential problems, and turn over clean reports with accurate analysis.
· When we make mistakes or things don’t go well, we are immediately transparent with the client and seek solutions. The trust we have is built on doing things right, even when it makes the job harder.
· Our admin team works very hard to maintain compliance with each client’s vendor requirements to ensure we meet all safety metrics, certificates of insurance, master service agreements. We have elite grades with Avetta, ISN, and Coupa. Our clients know that, even though we are a small business, we work just as hard to check all the necessary boxes
· Internally, we use a project management tool called ASANA. This helps us know where each potential and actual project are at. It starts with the BDM creating the opportunity for a proposal, estimating creates the proposal and ships it to the client. Once the BDM receives the PO, it is passed on to production. Billings are flagged along the way and the project is turned over to final billing. Once final payment is received, job costing is completed and commissions are paid.
Compensation
We believe that compensation should be competitive, but we are looking to create an environment where you are monetarily taken care of but choose to work at CPC for the culture.
· Base Salary + Commission – We want someone who is willing to bet on themselves. We will be open to discussing a range from 75% Salary / 25% Commission to 50% Salary / 50% Commission to 100% Commission. The pay structure will be based on your ability to contribute to overall sales and your confidence. At each level, there will be a sales quota, except the 100% commission structure.
· Commissions will not be capped. The operations team is hoping that you are the highest paid person in the company.
· 401(k) with a competitive match, Access to health insurance in the first full month, Growing PTO scale over time
· Company vehicle provided with credit card and monthly budget
Measurement
In the past 5 years, we have grown by 500%. This has been done with the owner performing business development functions and the operations team completing the work in a way that clients ask us to complete more. Here is how we need you to come in and perform:
· 100 calls weekly with 50% going to new, potential clients (cold calls, in-person visits, targeted emails). There is a strong focus on broadening the revenue base. We have some very significant customers who generate solid revenue every year. We need to increase that base of customers with a consistent effort in our primary territories.
· In addition, we need to create a pattern of connection with the client base that we haven’t maintained consistent contact. Our team has built the contact information for many of these clients in our CRM. We need you to create a plan to connect with each of them on a periodic basis.
· Proposals – One of the beautiful things about this position is that you don’t have to be responsible for the proposals. Your job is to drive opportunities, and our operations team will create the proposals. We do this because they are responsible for the budget. There is an expectation that job leads will increase by 25% with your work.
· CRM Tracking & Reporting – One of the key measurements is the tracking of each engagement. We want to be able to see the history of each customer’s development. At the end of each week, the BDM will report to the owner regarding the measurements above and the associated results. Clear progress each week and month is an expectation.
Winning
We want you and CPC to win. Your part is diligence and a commitment to share our message consistently and with passion. Our part is to back up your words with people and processes that lead your customers back to our team, again and again.
