Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks, tractor-trailers, or refrigerated trailers for local and over-the-road (OTR) routes, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, optimizing delivery schedules while maintaining safety protocols.
- Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations when required.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during routes.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with flatbed or tanker trucks.
- Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures, freight handling, and logistics cargo management.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers and transporting temperature-sensitive goods.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and handle manual handling tasks safely.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods.
- Skilled in using GPS navigation tools for efficient route planning across various OTR routes.
- operation or other loading equipment is a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: $1,497.71 - $1,794.70 per week
