As a Medical Assistant in our Medical Division, you play a critical role in ensuring a seamless, efficient, and compassionate experience for every patient.
This is a full-time position supporting our Internal Medicine team, with a strong focus on clinical excellence, patient flow, and team collaboration.
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant supports physicians and nurse practitioners in delivering day-to-day patient care within our Internal Medicine practice. You are responsible for preparing patients for visits, assisting with clinical procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up.
You are often the first and last clinical touchpoint for the patient—setting the tone for a professional, respectful, and efficient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits and procedures
- Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, injections, phlebotomy (if trained), and specimen collection
- Ensure exam rooms are properly stocked, cleaned, and prepared between patients
Patient Flow & Experience
- Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day, minimizing wait times
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding next steps, testing, and follow-up care
- Create a calm, organized, and professional environment for patients and team members
Documentation & Administrative Support
- Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist with prescription refills, prior authorizations, and patient messages as directed
- Support providers with order entry, lab coordination, and follow-up tracking
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, front desk, and leadership
- Assist in coordinating coverage and supporting team needs across the Medical Division
- Communicate proactively regarding patient concerns, delays, or operational challenges
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent experience)
- Prior experience in Internal Medicine or Primary Care strongly preferred
- Strong clinical skills including vitals, injections, and basic procedures
- Comfortable using EMR systems and basic computer applications
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Schedule
- Full-time
- Must be reliable and able to arrive and be ready to begin work at 8:00 AM
- Flexibility to support coverage as needed is preferred
