Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations across our facilities. This vital role involves managing freight movements, utilizing advanced transportation management systems, and ensuring seamless communication between drivers, carriers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong analysis skills and excellent communication abilities to optimize logistics workflows.
Duties
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal departments via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Input data accurately into systems like AS400 and Freight Management platforms for shipping & receiving documentation.
- Analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and support supply chain improvements.
- Manage fleet operations by scheduling maintenance and tracking vehicle statuses through fleet management software.
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with dispatching in logistics or transportation management environments.
- Strong familiarity with GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning tools such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.
- Knowledge of supply chain operations, freight logistics, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret transportation data and optimize routes.
- Exceptional communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette for effective stakeholder interaction.
- Proficiency in data entry using systems like AS400 or similar platforms; typing speed is a plus.
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
