The DJB Early Learning Center at Temple Beth Torah is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and enthusiastic Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood program.
We are looking for a dedicated educator who believes in learning through play, values strong relationships with children and families, and is passionate about fostering a warm, structured, and engaging classroom. The ideal candidate has experience in Early Childhood Education, is familiar with Jewish traditions, holidays, and curriculum, and enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive school community.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate Pre-K curriculum and daily lesson plans
- Create a safe, nurturing, and organized classroom that promotes independence, confidence, and curiosity
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development
- Incorporate Jewish holidays, traditions, Hebrew, and values into classroom learning and celebrations (NOT required, but helpful)
- Establish consistent routines and classroom expectations that help children thrive
- Build positive relationships with students and families through ongoing communication
- Observe and assess student progress and maintain appropriate documentation
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support student success
- Attend monthly staff meetings and professional development opportunities
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field (required)
- Previous experience teaching in a preschool or Pre-K classroom
- Knowledge of Jewish curriculum, traditions, and values
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
