About Creative STEAM Academy
Creative STEAM Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit private learning center in Laguna Woods, CA serving students in grades TK–8. We offer small class sizes, hands-on project-based learning, and a whole-child educational approach that puts real connection, creativity, and academic rigor at the center of everything we do.
Position Overview
We are hiring credentialed teachers for multiple subject blocks in grades 5–8. Candidates may apply for one block or multiple blocks based on credential, availability, and program fit.
Available Teaching Blocks
7th Grade ELA and Math
Tuesdays and Thursdays | 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
Writing, grammar, critical thinking, real-world math, financial literacy, and project-based learning.
5th and 6th Grade Science and Social Studies
Mondays and Wednesdays | 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
Hands-on experiments, ecosystems, history, geography, culture, and inquiry-based discovery.
STEM, Robotics, and Engineering
Fridays | 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
Circuits, robotics, design challenges, entrepreneurship, and hands-on innovation projects.
Responsibilities
Design and teach engaging, project-based lessons for students in grades 5–8. Differentiate instruction to meet students academically, socially, and emotionally. Use provided curriculum outlines as a foundation while incorporating your own creativity and teaching style. Track student progress and communicate warmly with families and school leadership.
Requirements
Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, Single Subject Teaching Credential in an applicable area, Foundational-Level Mathematics Credential, or other appropriate California teaching authorization for the assigned grades and subjects. Prior classroom experience with upper elementary or middle school students preferred.
Preferred
Experience in homeschool, hybrid, private school, or alternative education settings.
