Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) to join our dedicated mental health care team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform diagnosis and treatment strategies.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and DEA regulations, ensuring safe administration and monitoring.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling sessions tailored to individual patient needs, utilizing evidence-based approaches for behavioral health improvement.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated care plans that address physical and mental health needs.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and medication management.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance psychiatric practices and contribute to ongoing quality improvement projects.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications to promote recovery and resilience.
Requirements
- Valid Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with specialization in psychiatry or behavioral health nursing.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent credential.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those in hospice & palliative medicine settings.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient management.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, medication administration protocols, and drug enforcement regulations (DEA).
- Experience with telehealth platforms to provide remote psychiatric services effectively.
- Familiarity with critical care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine is advantageous for comprehensive patient assessment skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
