Responsibilities
- Provide peer-led support to individuals experiencing mental health or addiction challenges, offering encouragement and guidance based on shared lived experiences
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies, goal setting, and recovery plans aligned with their personal needs and aspirations
- Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management when clients are in distress, ensuring safety and stabilization
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster motivation for change and reinforce positive behaviors
- Collaborate with clinical teams by documenting interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and maintaining confidentiality
- Mentor clients through behavioral health programs, promoting engagement and adherence to treatment plans
- Support clients in accessing community resources, social services, and additional support networks
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling, and addiction counseling practices
- Proven ability in crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate urgent situations effectively
- Excellent mentoring skills with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach
- Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation and record keeping
- Skilled in motivational interviewing techniques to facilitate client engagement
- Knowledge of social work practices related to mental health support and recovery services
- Effective communication skills to build trust and rapport with diverse populations

Pay: $20.00 - $25.92 per hour
Work Location: In person
