Employee Benefits Insurance Marketing Specialist
The Schwendeman Agency is an independent insurance agency and financial services firm with its primary office in Marietta, Ohio and a second office in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The Agency has been in business for 96 years and has an excellent reputation. The Agency has four departments, Employee Benefits, Commercial lines Property and Casualty, Personal lines Property and Casualty, and Life Insurance and Financial Services. The Agency has expertise in each of these areas and we are looking to grow our Employee Benefits business.
Summary:
Responsible to coordinate the marketing and placement of a client’s employee benefit programs; prepares and presents RFPs to carriers to obtain quotes that meet the needs of existing and prospective clients; analyze carrier quotes and compiles a market analysis for agent review and client presentation; consults with team members to identify solutions that minimize risk and maximize cost effectiveness.
Job Description:
- Prepare RFPs (Request For Proposal) for submission to multiple insurance carriers for client’s existing coverages and new coverages to help meet the client’s needs.
- Reviews client's claim experience and any related financial information, if applicable, to ensure all data needed has been accurately identified and included in the RFP.
- Submits the RFP to the market and responds to additional questions and/or requests.
- Obtains quotes for appropriate insurance coverages that include various employee benefit coverages and funding arrangements.
- Summarize carrier responses by comparing benefit design, policy provisions, terms, and exclusions, and develop a full market analysis for client presentation.
- Stays current with the changing insurance marketplace and each carrier’s benefit packages and other services provided.
- Inputs and maintains record of all proposals, contracts, policy information and commissions in CRM system.

- Prior employee benefits experience is desired, however not required.
