Shummi US operates a number of fully-automated plastic injection mold, parts processing, and packaging assembly lines. The plastic injection OP determines the cycle time of the entire line. If you only do the sets up and clean mold please don't apply this position has more requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
- Warm up and/or shutdown the injection mold press according to defined procedures
- Maintain the injection mold press to ensure maximum uptime.
- Machine Setup & Operation: Perform mold changes, install dies, and calibrate equipment such as robots, pickers, and dryers.
- Monitor and maintain raw material feed equipment.
- Process Optimization: Adjust machine parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, injection speed, cycle times) to maximize output and quality.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve defects such as flash, short shots, warp, or sink marks by analyzing root causes on the manufacturing floor.
- Maintenance & Documentation: Complete preventive maintenance on molds, record parameter settings, and maintain accurate production logs.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain post-mold materials handling, parts processing, and packaging automation equipment.
- Support automation operators in adjusting the equipment to ensure product quality Participate in general facilities maintenance and cleaning operations as needed.
Who you are
The ideal candidate has several years of injection mold press operating experience. You are familiar with common problems that occur during injection mold operation. You are familiar with injection mold press construction and components and have performed basic repairs and maintenance on presses. You are ready and willing to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge to better perform your role.
Physical Requirements
1. Standing for long periods of time (>75%).
2. Manual dexterity with two hands.
3. Able to lift up to 30 lbs to head height.
4. 20/20 vision naturally or with corrective lenses.
Other Requirements
1. Ability to read English instructions is required.
2. English - basic proficiency is required.
3. Spanish OR Mandarin Chinese - any competency is a plus.
