Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by thoroughly cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and dining areas in accordance with food safety procedures.
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including basic cooking, portioning, and ingredient handling to support culinary staff.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy items such as large pots, trays, or boxes to prevent injury.
- Implement food safety sanitizing procedures regularly to ensure compliance with health regulations and prevent contamination.
- Manage dishwashing duties efficiently using industrial equipment while maintaining hygiene standards throughout the process.
Skills
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality environments with a focus on food handling and cleaning.
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures.
- Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects safely.
- Skilled in basic food preparation techniques including knife skills and cooking fundamentals.
- Experience with dishwashing equipment and maintaining cleanliness standards in busy kitchens or banquet settings.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
