Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available
Plant Residential Services is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)to provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities in residential and community settings. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in helping individuals achieve greater independence, build meaningful relationships, and actively participate in their communities while ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and person-centered support in accordance with each individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP).
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility assistance as needed.
- Implement goals, objectives, and support strategies outlined in each individual's ISP to promote independence and personal growth.
- Support individuals in developing daily living, communication, social, and community integration skills.
- Encourage choice, self-advocacy, and participation in recreational, vocational, and community activities.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs and preferences.
- Perform light housekeeping and assist individuals in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized living environment.
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to medical appointments, recreational outings, employment, and community activities as assigned.
- Accurately document services provided, daily activities, progress toward ISP goals, incidents, and any changes in behavior or health.
- Monitor individuals' physical, emotional, and behavioral well-being and promptly report concerns to supervisors.
- Administer or assist with medications as permitted by agency policy and state regulations (if certified/trained).
- Follow all agency policies, state regulations, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
- Maintain professional communication with individuals served, families, guardians, medical professionals, and agency staff.
- Assist during emergency situations and respond appropriately to ensure the safety of individuals receiving services.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Reliable vehicle with current automobile insurance required.
- Must successfully pass required background checks.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional, caregiver, home health aide, or in human services preferred, but not required.
- Ability to follow Individual Support Plans (ISPs), document services accurately, and maintain professionalism.
- Compassionate, dependable, patient, and committed to supporting individuals in achieving their personal goals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- Consistent hours available.
- Flexible scheduling may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on program needs.
