Summary:
The Housekeeping Uniform Control assists team members with uniform issuance, dry cleaning and pick-up. They are responsible for repairing crew uniforms, guest clothes and all hotel department linen.
Responsibilities:
- Collects and inspects uniforms from associates who are transferring or terminating.
- Inspects and hangs all clean uniforms, keeps uniforms racks organized.
- Assists in packing and unpacking of garments, bar-coding and entering stock in computer.
- Keeps count of uniform stock and informs manager of inventory needs.
- Maintains knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Maintain the threads, buttons, needles etc. at par level at all times.
- Repair any torn or damaged linen for the hotel department.
- Repair/alter guest clothes.
- Make alterations to any company issue uniforms as required.
- Re-generate replacement linen from soiled and damaged items, for example, pillow covers and cleaning rags from damaged towels.
- Maintain and keep all equipment and the surrounding working area clean.
- Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Previous housekeeping/alterations experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail skills.
- Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
- Must be able to legally work in the USA.
Education and Certification(s)/License(s):
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
