Night Auditor
Reports To: General Manager / Assistant General Manager
Position Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest service while maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, security, and operational readiness of the property during overnight hours. This position serves as the primary overnight representative of the hotel and works closely with contracted security to ensure all hotel policies are consistently enforced.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFront Desk Operations
- Greet guests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Process guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and payment transactions.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to guest requests.
- Issue room keys and verify guest identification.
- Complete required nightly reports and communication logs.
- Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.
Laundry Responsibilities
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize all hotel linens.
- Process towels, sheets, blankets, pillowcases, shower curtains, and kitchen linens.
- Ensure all overnight laundry is completed before the morning housekeeping shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked laundry room.
Property Cleanliness
- Clean and sanitize the guest laundry room each night.
- Clean and sanitize both guest elevators nightly.
- Clean all first-floor stairwells nightly.
- Ensure first-floor stairwell doors remain closed and secured throughout the night.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the front entrance, lobby, public restrooms, and other public areas.
- Remove trash from public areas as needed.
- Report maintenance issues immediately.
Security Oversight
- Work directly with the contracted security officer throughout the shift.
- Ensure security conducts required property patrols.
- Verify security is actively enforcing:
- Quiet hours
- No loitering
- Parking permit compliance
- Smoking policy
- Trespassing enforcement
- Guest registration requirements
- Notify management immediately if security is not performing assigned duties.
- Document any performance concerns involving contracted security.
Shift Preparation
- Ensure the hotel is prepared for the morning shift.
- Stock front desk supplies.
- Prepare housekeeping items as needed.
- Communicate important information during shift change.
- Ensure all overnight tasks are completed before leaving.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Hotel, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to climb stairs during property inspections.
- Ability to perform repetitive laundry tasks.
Performance Expectations
Night Auditor's are expected to:
- Deliver outstanding guest service.
- Complete all assigned laundry before the morning shift.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized property.
- Ensure guest laundry rooms, elevators, stairwells, and public areas are cleaned nightly.
- Conduct regular property inspections.
- Partner with contracted security to maintain a safe environment.
- Accurately complete all required reports and logs.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and reliability on every shift.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
