Job Summary.
- Has general knowledge of architectural, interior design, and engineering technology.
- Organizes, plans, and devises work methods to initiate, implement, and complete minor modification projects as assigned for review by technical or administrative lead. Gathers program requirements by interview, observation, and survey of customer. Performs minor design modifications in CAD for Facilities Management (FM). Creates, stores, retrieves, and updates data base information in FM facilities space management software. Creates, stores, retrieves, and updates interior design drawings on Computer Aided Drafting (CAD). Creates, updates, and maintains FM CAD integrator files.
- Has and applies general knowledge of principles, practices and procedures associated with procurement functions. Participates in strategic material sourcing efforts in support of FM functions including Furniture Program, daily Operations and Maintenance modifications and Project support. Plans and schedules material requirements to support assigned areas of work.
- Supports others in the area of Facilities Design as requested.
- Area of job duties includes the entire seven State region of the Tennessee Valley Authority.
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Supervision Received
Receives minimum supervision and works independently to plan and perform assignments according to customary work practices and procedures. Works under direct supervision of a technical lead for work tasks of a more complex nature. Employee is not responsible for approving leave or writing service reviews.

Ability to create, update, & maintain CAD integrator files and FM facilities database, including field verification of as-built conditions.
Ability to read and prepare CAD drawings and tie this information to the Facilities Management Information Systems database.
Ability to retrieve data in various electronic and hardcopy formats.
Ability to recognize and identify problems and determine reasonable alternate solutions.
Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing with customers and suppliers. Also ability to persuade, or motivate persons not under one’s direct Supervision toward a point of view which meets TVA guidelines, standards, and goals with minimum assistance.
Ability to implement and administer inventory-related programs and initiatives
Ability to obtain and determine various types of data needed to optimize inventory levels
Working knowledge of personal computers, basic interior design technology, and CAD
Working knowledge of principles, theories, practices, methods, & procedures of interior design for facilities and related support areas.
General knowledge of procurement practices/guidelines, inventory analysis and reporting requirements
General knowledge of financial analysis, business planning principles and accounting practices
General knowledge of negotiation techniques, principles and practices
General knowledge of basic equipment operation, life-cycle costs analysis and value analysis
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience/Certificates, Licenses, and Registration Requirements/Other Requirements
Two year technical degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture or a related field of study from a Foundation for Interior Design Education and Research (FIDER) accredited program; or equivalent education, training & experience. Coursework in communications is desirable.
Possession of minimum knowledge, skill, and/or abilities may be shown through experience, training, testing, license requirements, education, and/or a combination of these evidences.
Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, researching, and evaluating business needs for assigned functional areas.
