We are seeking an experienced Controller for a client that needs a seasoned financial leader and trusted expert in the room. This position is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who can oversee accounting operations, strengthen financial controls, guide decision-making, and serve as a strategic resource to company leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial management, accounting operations, and reporting across multiple entities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of GAAP and ensure accurate, compliant financial records.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash-flow planning.
- Monitor and safeguard company assets through effective asset-control procedures.
- Manage and maintain financial information using Sage Quantum.
- Provide tax guidance and prepare accurate, well-organized information for review by the company’s outside CPA.
- Support sales-tax compliance, reporting, and related research.
- Serve as an internal financial advisor to leadership and operational teams.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends or risks, and provide practical recommendations.
- Establish and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and documentation.
- Perform hands-on review and oversight of general accounting activities as needed.
- Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and other business partners.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and useful for operational and strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Significant experience in financial management, controllership, or a similar senior accounting role.
- CPA designation preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and tax-related accounting requirements.
- Experience overseeing financial activity for multiple legal entities.
- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, and asset management.
- Sage Quantum experience preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution in a dynamic environment.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
