Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recreation Aide (Floor) to join our Recreation Department at Westmoreland Manor. As a Recreation Aide, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of therapeutic and diversional activities for our residents, documenting their daily participation and progress, and filing patient progress sheets as required. This is a full-time opportunity with a rate of $18.10 per hour.
Responsibilities
Conduct a range of therapeutic and diversional activities for residents, including but not limited to:
Arts and crafts
Games and puzzles
Music and movement
Outdoor activities
Document resident daily participation and progress in activity charts
File patient progress sheets as required
Work one-on-one and in groups with individuals with behaviors and/or dementia to provide redirection and engaging activities
Promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of residents
Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent
Previous experience in Occupational Therapy and/or Recreation Therapy/activities
Experience in dementia and long-term care preferred
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to conduct a variety of diverse and therapeutic activities
Ability to maintain resident's activities charts and lift as required
