Production Manager
As a production manager, you'll make sure goods and services are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time and that they meet the required quality standards.
Essential Functions:
Position is focused on overseen production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. The essential job functions include the following:
- plan and draw up a production schedule.
- decide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
- select equipment and take responsibility for its maintenance.
- ensure that production will be cost effective
- monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
- monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programs
- organize the repair of any damaged equipment
- liaise with different departments,
- ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
- ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met
- work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
- collate and analyze data, putting together production reports for both factory managers and customers
- supervise and motivate a team of workers
- review worker performance and identify training needs.
- Involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage. A large part of the job is dealing with people and resource management.
Accountability:
As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently respecting confidentiality and compliance with company policies & procedures”
- Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements
- Estimate costs and prepare budgets
- Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
- Monitor production to resolve issues
- Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)
- Determine number of necessary resources (workforce, machinery etc.)
- Approve maintenance work, purchasing of equipment etc.
- Ensure output meets quality standards
- Enforce health and safety precautions
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as Production Manager
- Deep knowledge of production management
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
- Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP software
- Outstanding communication ability
- Excellent organizational and leaderships skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
- BSc/Ba in business administration or relevant field is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
