Job Overview
Performance Staffing Solutions is seeking a Safety Coordinator. This position will support daily safety operations within a manufacturing environment and work closely with the EHS Manager to promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
The Safety Coordinator will maintain a visible presence on the production floor, assist with safety training, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and help ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. The ideal candidate has prior safety experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial setting and enjoys working directly with employees in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Support the EHS Manager in implementing and maintaining safety programs, policies, and OSHA compliance initiatives.
- Conduct routine facility safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Assist with incident, injury, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and follow-up activities.
- Coordinate employee safety training programs, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication, Forklift Safety, and other required training.
- Maintain accurate records related to safety training, inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation.
- Work closely with supervisors and production employees to reinforce safe work practices and proactively address safety concerns.
- Support safety efforts involving manufacturing and fabrication processes, including machinery, welding, cutting, grinding, and material handling operations.
- Assist with environmental compliance activities, hazardous waste management, emergency preparedness planning, and safety drills.
- Participate in ongoing safety improvement initiatives and employee engagement programs.
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of safety, EHS, or occupational health and safety experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards and workplace safety regulations.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, PPE programs, forklift safety, and incident investigation procedures.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and management.
- Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor in a manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in metal fabrication, machining, welding, automotive manufacturing, or similar industrial operations.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 General Industry certification.
- Experience supporting environmental compliance and emergency response programs.
