Professional Certification Requirement: Hawaii is a member board of the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Inc. (IC&RC/AODA) and subscribes to the international standards prescribed by the IC&RC. Applicants must possess a valid Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate (CSAC) issued by the State of Hawaii, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division. Applicants who do not possess a Hawaii issued CSAC but are certified in states that subscribe to the international standards prescribed by the IC&RC and with the same credential as Hawaii may also apply. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES This position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the operational activities of the Drug Court section while providing supervision, consultation, and training to professional staff assigned to the program. Duties include overseeing case assignments and service delivery; reviewing case records, staff recommendations, and compliance with court orders; guiding staff in case planning and use of community resources; monitoring deadlines and program requirements; conducting staff training and section meetings; evaluating employee performance; and addressing complaints or personnel issues. The position also coordinates and collaborates with federal, state, county, and private agencies in support of Drug Court clients and program objectives. Due to the tri-isle nature of the circuit, incumbents participate in inter-agency meetings, training, and program-related activities that may occur outside normal business hours and office settings.
