Premier Chimney and Roofing is hiring a dependable and motivated Chimney Repair Technician Assistant to join our growing team.
This is a hands-on support position working directly alongside a Lead Chimney Repair Technician. The assistant will help the lead technician safely and efficiently complete chimney, fireplace, masonry, and exterior repair projects. Duties include preparing materials and tools, assisting with installations and repairs, maintaining organized job sites, documenting completed work, and learning proper chimney repair methods.
Previous professional experience in a construction, mechanical, maintenance, installation, landscaping, or other physically demanding trade is required. Direct chimney experience is not required, but applicants must already understand the expectations of manual labor, outdoor work, job-site safety, tool use, and following a lead technician’s instructions.
We will provide specialized chimney and fireplace training to the right candidate, but this is not a first-job or no-experience training position. Candidates should already have a proven work history in a hands-on trade and be prepared for demanding physical work.

- Prepare work areas and protect customers’ homes and property
- Safely work from ladders, scaffolding, rooftops, and exterior structures under the lead technician’s direction
- Safely operate common hand tools and power tools
- Follow company procedures, manufacturer instructions, safety requirements, and industry best practices
- Take progress and completion photos and assist with accurate job documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
- Clean and properly store tools and equipment after each project
- Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and ask questions when instructions are unclear
- Learn the specialized skills necessary to advance into a Chimney Repair Technician position
Requirements
- Previous professional experience in at least one hands-on trade or physically demanding field is required
- Experience may include construction, masonry, roofing, HVAC, fireplace work, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, landscaping, tree work, painting, siding, waterproofing, maintenance, installation, manufacturing, warehouse work, moving, or a similar labor-intensive occupation
- Familiarity with manual labor, active job sites, tools, materials, and workplace safety
- Proven ability to work consistently in a physically demanding position
- Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, scaffolding, and exterior structures
- Able to lift and carry tools, ladders, equipment, and construction materials
- Able to bend, climb, kneel, reach, and remain physically active throughout the workday
- Able to perform outdoor work in heat, cold, and other varying weather conditions
- Willing and able to use hand tools, power tools, and specialized chimney-repair equipment

- Strong attention to detail and respect for quality workmanship
- Dependable, punctual, coachable, and willing to learn
