Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant Instructor is responsible for delivering classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction to students enrolled in the Medical Assistant program. This individual will provide hands-on training, evaluate student performance, maintain accurate records, and ensure students are prepared for entry-level employment in the healthcare field.
Qualifications:
☐ Minimum of 3-5 years of recent Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting
☐ Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent)
☐ Prior teaching, training, mentoring, or instructional experience preferred
☐ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
☐ Ability to motivate and engage diverse student populations
☐ Basic computer proficiency and ability to maintain student records
☐ Passion for helping students achieve their career goals
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
☐ Deliver classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction in accordance with curriculum standards
☐ Demonstrate clinical procedures and best practices used in healthcare settings
☐ Evaluate student progress through assignments, skills assessments, and examinations
☐ Maintain attendance, grades, and required documentation
☐ Provide academic support and coaching to students
☐ Foster a positive, professional, and engaging learning environment
☐ Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and accrediting agency requirements
☐ Participate in faculty meetings, training, and professional development activities
☐ Assist with curriculum improvement and program enhancement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
☐ Previous experience teaching in a postsecondary, vocational, or career training environment
☐ Experience supervising or training staff in a healthcare setting
☐ Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
