Full-Time Property and Farm Management - Chadwick, Illinois
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and experienced Full-Time Property and Farm Management Team Member to join our farm in Illinois. This is a year-round, hands-on position requiring flexibility, responsibility, and real experience and genuine care for animals and property upkeep. The ideal candidate understands that farming is not a 9–5 job and is committed to the daily and emergency needs of the animals while also taking pride in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the property.
Position Overview
You will be responsible for daily animal care, landscaping, property upkeep, and overall farm support. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, monitoring animal health, maintaining outdoor spaces, operating equipment, and assisting with transportation and maintenance projects around the farm. This role requires availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call emergencies, as animal care and property needs are ongoing year-round.
Responsibilities
- Daily feeding, watering, and general care of a variety of animals
- Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures, barns, stalls, and farm areas
- Monitoring animals for signs of illness, injury, or distress
- Assisting with animal handling and transportation as needed
- Responding to animal-related emergencies promptly and responsibly
- Landscaping duties include but not limited to; mowing, trimming, brush clearing, weed management, planting, and seasonal upkeep
- General property maintenance including fencing repairs, equipment upkeep, light repairs, and maintaining clean and organized grounds
- Assisting with snow removal, seasonal projects, and farm improvements
- Operating farm equipment, landscaping tools, and machinery safely
- Supporting general farm operations and upkeep as needed
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized farm environment
Qualifications
- Prior farm, livestock, animal care, landscaping, or property maintenance experience
- Bonus if candidate has animal health, veterinary, mechanical, or equipment operation experience
- Comfortable working with a variety of animals
- Experience using landscaping or farm equipment preferred
- Physically capable of lifting, cleaning, manual labor, and working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Must be comfortable with a flexible schedule and on-call responsibilities
Schedule & Availability
- Full-time, year-round
- Must be available for daily animal care and property needs
- On-call availability required for emergencies
- Weekends and holidays required (animals need care every day)
