Summary
Under general supervision, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports licensed medical staff by providing direct patient care and administrative medical services in a residential treatment setting. Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, monitoring vital signs, assisting with detoxification services, medication management, maintaining medical records, and promoting quality patient care while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Essential Duties
- Obtain and document patient health and substance use histories.
- Perform intake health assessments, vital signs, and screenings, including TB testing and PHQ/GAD assessments.
- Assist in monitoring clients during detoxification and report changes in condition.
- Enter, manage, inventory, and distribute medications accurately under provider direction.
- Coordinate prescription refills and communicate with pharmacies and healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Coordinate care for high-acuity and MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) clients and provide weekly updates to the medical team.
- Educate clients on health conditions, medications, and wellness topics; facilitate health education groups.
- Maintain medical equipment and supplies, including medication inventory.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and maintain professional certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid California driver's license.

Pre-Employment Requirements
- DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance.
- Negative tuberculosis test.
- Successful drug screening.
- Must be insurable under the organization's automobile insurance policy.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, lift up to 25 pounds, use standard office and medical equipment, and perform duties requiring visual acuity, manual dexterity, and effective communication.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
