Responsibilities
- Operate and drive commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
- Ensure the safe handling of goods during transport, including securing loads properly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and cargo details.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver's license.
- CDL A
- Proficiency in English and operating 53 ft dry van trailer
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to operate tractor and trailer while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Excellent navigational skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS systems effectively.
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining logs and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- 23 years of age
- Hazmat is a must to join landstar tanker is a plus for totes from time to time.
- 1 year verified OTR driving within past 3 years
- Or 2 years' experience in the last 5 years with the specific equipment you'll be operating
- Verifiable driving experience is essential
- You should not have no DOT recordable/preventable accidents in past 12 months Clean driving record is crucial no more than one serious violation in past 36 months
- No DUI in last 60 months
- No felonies in 7 years misdemeanors 5 years all will be review
- Understand ELD and hours of service our ELD is Motive
- If you are under a year of OTR experience we have a nester program
- If you dont have hazmat we also can give you 90 days to obtain it.
