About the Role:
Big Sky Smiles and Sedation in Missoula, MT is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our dedicated and patient-focused team. Responsibilities:
- Assist dentist chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, cosmetic, and sedation cases
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms between patients
- Take and develop digital X-rays following proper radiographic techniques
- Monitor and assist with patients undergoing sedation dentistry protocols
- Record patient medical histories, treatment notes, and updates in dental software
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices
- Coordinate with front office staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling
Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on dental assisting experience required
- Familiarity with sedation dentistry procedures is a strong plus
- Dental radiography certification (X-ray certified) required or ability to obtain
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar)
- Strong chairside manner with the ability to put anxious patients at ease
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented, reliable, and professional demeanor
